the webpage cannot be found http 404 error. Fixed!

This is very common error while you are hosting application on IIS server.

Cause of this issue :

The following are some common causes of this error message:

  •  The requested file has been renamed.
  • A virtual directory is mapped to the root of a drive on another server.
  • IIS 6.0: The appropriate Web service extension or MIME type is not enabled.
  • The requested file has been moved to another location and/or deleted.
  • The requested file is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or other unknown causes.
  • The requested file does not exist.


Resolution of this issue :

  • You should be delete all the cookies and browser history.
  • Verify the requested file that exist or not which you are calling through browser.
  • Flush the old DNS entry from your system using command prompt.(Go to cmd prompt --> type "ipconfig/flushdns").
